    Head of Research, Full-time

    Location

    This position can be either hybrid and based in either San Francisco or New York City, or completely remote if the candidate has the right experience.

    Ted Maguire

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university

    • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in work

    • 1-4 years of executive search experience and familiarity with executive search methodologies

    • Extensive experience sourcing top candidates and creating comprehensive candidate and company mappings 

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively

    • Located in New York or San Francisco to be in person for client and candidate meetings

    • Experience working in complex recruiting ATS environments

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Executive search experience at a top tier agency 

    • Formal in-house recruiting experience is a bonus

    • Prior experience interfacing with clients directly

    • Experience with Coda software is preferred, but not required

    Role Description

    We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated individual to join our team as the Head of Research. The primary focus of this role is to own the candidate research function for the firm. The ideal candidate will be adept at identifying and sourcing high-caliber candidates and proficient in researching and mapping relevant companies for each new role we undertake.

    More specifically, this means creating comprehensive company and candidate mappings using our in-house ATS built in Coda. An essential characteristic for this role is a deep passion for understanding relevant company and candidate ecosystems, as well as finding enjoyment in creating, sorting, and analyzing our candidate data. 

    You will: 

    • Source top talent by matching candidate capabilities and experiences with your clients’ desired candidate profiles. 

    • Create comprehensive company market mappings, and record and rank relevant candidate profiles from those companies.

    • Conduct comprehensive research to identify potential candidates for executive-level positions.

    • Utilize various tools and methodologies to map out companies and identify key players in the industry.

    • Use our software tools and databases to search through candidates and create highly targeted candidate mappings that align closely with the role specifications. 

    • Update the search progress in our database for all ongoing searches including candidate meetings, client feedback, and other pertinent information. 

    • Act as a positive and professional representative of the company, fostering strong relationships with both clients and candidates through low-ego communication and a customer-centric approach.

    • Be able to understand highly technical company ecosystems, and highly technical functional roles.
